Wednesday, February 20, 2008 It's 9:44 p.m., and I have to get up at 4:00 a.m. to leave for the airport for the first leg of my non-direct route to Stitches West, and I haven't even started to pick out my clothes yet. My briefcase is packed, my class notes and samples are packed, my knitting is packed, my toiletries are packed, and I think I've tied up all the loose ends at home (so the household doesn't fall apart while I'm gone). Oh! One more loose end: I've got one photo posted for my Intro to Double Knitting class that starts a week from tomorrow at ThreadBear. It's a new class, and I would like people to sign up for it (please!). Here's the project for Session 1:
A small bag (iPod cozy!), magically knit flat through the miracle of double knitting (snug as a bug in a rug!). The second project, for Sessions 2 and 3, exists only in my head so far, although I have the yarn and the needles and the chart in my briefcase, and I hope to get a good chunk of it done in airports and airplanes this weekend. It will be a table runner/placemat thingy. I'll post a photo of whatever I have done when I get back on Monday (or Tuesday). Until then . . . Sarah Wednesday, February 13, 2008 Hey! How're y'all doin'? Good, good. I'm fine, too. Busy, though. I didn't bite off more than I could chew, exactly, but the plates I'm juggling sure are full. (Thank you for allowing me to mix my metaphors. Badly.) February has been and continues to be full of deadlines (and snow, but I think the two are unrelated). Among other things, I'm teaching ten classes at Stitches West in about a week -- three 3-hour classes and seven Market Sessions. So if you're in the area, please come find me and say hi. And bring food. And chocolate. 'Cause I don't think I scheduled any time to eat. There's been a lot of knitting going on here and there, but I don't think I've finished anything except a pair of socks (happy birthday, Sister Number Two!). Photos and complete descriptions of everything that's on my needles will follow. In March. Because that's when life will get back to its normal amount of crazy, as opposed to the insane amount of crazy it is right now. See ya then! Sarah |
